Our Rough cut- critisism and improvement

Posted in Uncategorized on January 26, 2011 by eddytess

We showed our film to our Media Class and we had a lot of advice but also a lot of critism on things to change. A lot of people told us that there wasn’t enough of a story line and so they found it fairly boring to watch. They did like the clubbing scenes, although they were all long shots so we have to add more.

We have discussed all of the possible options to now improve our film. We have decided that we are going to film Julius Balzien and Tori Puddle.  We are going to use Julius as he is in many of our main shots, although the story line will still be the same as our original idea. We need to film some more shots of people dancing for the clubbing scene with different shots. We also need to film more shots of girls getting ready. For this we are going to use Anna Richter, Susann Evertz and our central protagonist Tori Puddle.

On sunday we are going to meet in our Media Studies room to create a black background with lighting so that we can create our photographs for the CD cover using Tori and Julius.

Our Rough Cut

Posted in Uncategorized on January 21, 2011 by eddytess

We have had a lot of difficulty trying to finish our filming as in a lot of our scenes we used Ryan Janpas, whom also left the school so we have had a lot of discussion on whether to refilm those scenes or not. We have now finished our filming and are editing our rough cut.

Last saturday, we filmed for an hour in our sixth form social for our clubbing scene. Although we only need a few minutes from it we decided to film as much as we could so that we could edit it all. We also changed our blog themed backround and we are finishing our filming on thursday so that we can edit it all and have it finished to go on to do the DigiPak.

We have just over  a week left until our final deadline for our film. We still need to edit a lot of our film and we have a few shots left also. To do this we need to plan how and when we are going to be filming. As neither of our actors are in our Media Studies class we will need to use our time out of class to film while editing in class. We still need to film the clubbing scene which can be filmed this saturday in our 6th form social. We still have more to do for our coursework so it is important that we have our film finished on time. This week we are going to film after classes in our houses and on the silent walk for the break up scene as well as saturday night for the clubbing scene so that we can get it done as soon as possible.

Today we edited more of our Music Video. We have decided to still use the same story line for our Video but use Tori Puddle instead of Cathelijne.

We thought that it would be a good idea to use a fan in the girl’s house to change scenes for special effects:

We still have a lot of filming to be done in  a short time but we are confident that we will have it done and edited well.

Location Shots

Because of the weather we took more location shots of Gordonstoun House in the snow. We also took pictures of one of the girl’s rooms in Plewlands House and a photograph of the inside of the 6th Form Center inside Gordonstoun House:

Although we had a lot of filming, we have not got enough to edit our entire Music Video. The problem with this is that the weather is now snowing and the campus is deep in snow which proves to be a difficulty for our filming. Another problem is that our Central Protagonist for our Music Video, Cathelijne has left for two weeks early, unexpectedly. Because of this we had to either re film our entire film for editing, keep what we have and change the story or edit what we have and wait six weeks until we can film Cathelijne again.

After much discussion we decided to change our Actress but use Sebastian Kapsch still. We are going to use the same story line but change the scenes.

Today we edited our shots that we have taken so far and we tried different techniques of editing, like colour schemes and slow motion. We still have more to film but during the snow, the weather is difficult to film in. We looked on the internet for a ten day weather forecast for next week so that it would be easier for us to film. 18th of November

Today we filmed for an hour and a half on campus. We filmed different shots of Cathelijne to edit into jump shots. We wanted to film different shots of her for after she has had an arguement with her boyfriend in the Video so we shot her walking alone using high angle, low angle and close-up tracking shots. The weather was windy so it was helpful for our filming as it meant that she could look upset with her hair blowing in the wind to create a dramatic atmosphere to our scene.

Filming

Posted in Uncategorized on November 17, 2010 by eddytess

We could not film today as the weather was grey and gloomy. Although we could not film we filmed three days ago. We filmed our Central Protagonist Cathelijne Schuitemaker Wickstrom. We filmed her where we took our location shots, on a path in the school grounds. We practised our different shots and directing as Oliver Kapsch could not be there.
